Free & cheap parking in Prague

Parking in the centre of Prague adds up fast. These are the free and cheap options we found on official sites, with how to get into the centre and the rules to watch.

Checked: 18 October 2026. Prices and hours can change; check the official site before you go.

What is P+R? P+R means Park and Ride: a car park on the edge of the city, next to a metro, tram or bus stop. You leave the car there and ride into the centre.

💡 The cheapest way

The cheapest way to park in Prague is a P+R at the edge of town: eight lots are free (most for up to 12 hours), the others charge CZK 50 for the first 24 hours (CZK 100 at three of them). With a 24-hour PID ticket at CZK 140 that is far cheaper than parking in the centre, where the street costs up to CZK 80 an hour.

Free street parking

When paid street parking is free

Parking in the paid zones is free outside the hours posted on the signs; with no hours posted it is paid around the clock. We found no city-wide free Sunday. A cheaper 24-hour rate applies on national holidays and Christmas holidays, but only in sections that are not paid every day and not in blue zones; read the sign. cdn.parking.praha.eu/parking-praha/2025/05/Excerpt-from-parking-permit-price-list_EN_.pdf ↗

Ways to pay less

PID tickets for the P+R ride

Prague zones: 24 hours CZK 140 in the PID Lítačka app or CZK 150 on paper; 72 hours CZK 340 / 350; single tickets 30 minutes CZK 36 / 39 and 90 minutes CZK 46 / 50. The 24-hour and 72-hour tickets also work on the Petřín funicular; short ones do not. dpp.cz/jizdne/cenik-jizdneho ↗

Zero-emission cars: 50% off

Zero-emission vehicles registered for the discount pay 50% less for short-term parking in the paid zones (street machines do not apply it). Free parking for low-emission cars ended on 1 January 2026. parking.praha.eu/en/faq ↗

Pay online

Pay at the machine (CZK or EUR coins, card, QR code), with the online parking machine or in the PID Lítačka app. Online payment works out the price for your street and lets you extend. Partner apps may add a fee. parking.praha.eu/en/payment-for-parking ↗

Watch out

Leave the P+R within 15 minutes of paying

Take the parking slip when you drive in and pay at the machine before you leave. Spaces cannot be booked. parking.praha.eu/en/faq/public-lots-pr-and-kr ↗

P+R is tied to public transport

The city says the P+R lots are meant for people who continue by public transport. Keep your PID ticket. parking.praha.eu/en/faq/public-lots-pr-and-kr ↗

Blue zones are for residents

Visitors may stay only briefly in a blue zone (one hour in the centre, up to three hours outside) and must pay online, as there are no meters. parking.praha.eu/en/parking-options-in-prague/parking-in-zones/blue-zone ↗

Street prices

Visitors pay up to CZK 80 an hour in the 1st price sector, CZK 60 in the 2nd and CZK 40 in the 3rd. cdn.parking.praha.eu/parking-praha/2025/05/Excerpt-from-parking-permit-price-list_EN_.pdf ↗

Street cleaning

Since 28 August 2026, visitor payments are restricted during scheduled street cleaning in the affected sections. parking.praha.eu/en/news ↗
